What is it like to be a young person at COP or similar international conferences? Our panel discussion features a diverse selection of young people with experience in participating in international climate conferences. Attending such conferences as a young person can be a transformative and inspiring experience, but also daunting and seemingly unreachable. Our speakers will provide participants with valuable insights about their personal journeys, letting them in on the full experience.

Event description

This event will focus on youth participation in international conferences, such as COPs, SBs (Bonn Climate Change Conference) or G20/Y20. Our panel of youth speakers have all been involved in international climate policy and conferences. They come from a variety of countries and backgrounds, for example Egypt, Chile, Peru or UK. We will focus on their personal experiences, behind-the-scenes insights as well as their highlights and challenges. We will show how other young people can get involved, in particular in the lead-up to COP28. There will be interactive elements including a quiz for participants as well as a Q&A session. The panel will be moderated by ClimaTalk’s COP28 Project Co-Leads.
