Seats at the Table: A Youth Vision for COP30
Seats at the Table: A Youth Vision for COP30 is a collective call from young people worldwide for meaningful participation and shared leadership in international climate negotiations. As COP30 approaches, youth from diverse regions and movements demand that their roles extend beyond tokenistic representation to genuine co-leadership in decision-making spaces. Rooted in reflections from SB62, this publication captures the hopes, visions, and urgent calls to action from young voices who are already shaping solutions to the climate crisis. It highlights barriers to youth participation, which are financial, structural, and systemic, and presents clear demands: inclusion in national delegations, funded access, intergenerational equity, and recognition of youth-led innovation and education.
This is more than a manifesto. It is a reminder that youth are not passive observers of the climate crisis but active agents of change. Empowering youth as equal partners at COP30 is not an act of generosity, but of necessity. The decisions made in Belém will determine our shared future, and young people are ready to lead it.
