ClimaTalk is a team of over 100 volunteers from over 30 countries with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.

Through enabling a deep understanding of climate policy, we want to empower young people in the fight for climate action!

Emma Heiling

Emma Heiling

CEO & Founder

Emma has a Master’s in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po, Paris, and a Bachelor’s in Land Economy (Environment, Law and Economics) from the University of Cambridge. She founded ClimaTalk at the end of her undergrad in June 2020 and has been running the organisation ever since. She’s also working as a Climate Policy & Research Consultant for the international marine conservation NGO OceanCare. When she isn’t in meetings or on Slack, she’s busy finding the best vegan food.

Georgia Fulton

Georgia Fulton

COO & Editor-in-Chief

Georgia researches and teaches at the University of Geneva, having studied English literature at Cambridge and Durham. She is Editor-in-Chief at ClimaTalk. Currently she can be found in the mountains around Geneva when not in the library!

Victoria Daramy-Williams

Web Team Co-Lead

Victoria studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, specialising in Chemistry. Now working as a Software Engineer, she’s eager to use her skills to contribute to positive social and environmental change. You’ll probably find her cuddling her cat (much to his chagrin), doing puzzles, or hunting for vegan snacks.

Chiara has a Master in Sociology and a BA in Communication, Media, and Advertising. After working as a content strategist creating multi-platform strategies for sharing content on social media, she is now discovering the field of Learning & Development, helping people in their professional growth people through communication and creativity. When she isn’t squinting at her computer screen, you will likely find her with her head buried in a book with a cup of tea in her hand.

 

Aisling Eyers

Having recently graduated from a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Regulation at the London School of Economics, Aisling is now working as a researcher at a sustainability consultancy that specialises in climate change, biodiversity and human rights. She is particularly passionate about issues at the intersection of human rights and climate change, and in engaging people from all different walks of life in the climate discussion. Outside work, she loves running, photography and listening to jazz!

Felicity Silverthorne

Felicity Silverthorne

Social Media Team Co-Lead

Felicity works as a communications and campaigns consultant with NGOs around the world. She grew up in Cornwall in the UK, and has a strong affinity for the ocean. She is a passionate vegan and animal rights activist. Since completing her MPhil degree in Film and Screen Studies at the University of Cambridge, Felicity has focused her skills and time on her passion for communicating the climate crisis, particularly with youth networks. Her love of film, literature and journalism is centred around her core belief that engagement with the public is what can most effectively lead to change.

Ada Carpenter

Ada is about to complete her master’s degree in Climate Change, Development and Policy at the Institute of Development Studies in Brighton with a research focus on climate smart agriculture and sustainable food systems. She’s an experienced student journalist, having led The KAIST Herald and The Badger student newspapers, and is deeply committed to effective climate communication. In her free time, she loves swimming in the sea and baking vegan cakes.

Cecilia Tran Bui

Cecilia is a young professional who is still trying to navigate a career that answers to her values in life and makes use of her expertise. Currently working at UNICEF HQ as a Resource Mobilization Innovation Consultant, she is passionate about climate justice, resource efficiency, circular economy, human rights, and child rights. Cecilia loves puzzles and is practicing archery in her free time!

Julia Gaus

Julia Gaus

Research Team Co-Lead

Julia is working as a junior professional officer at the Secretariat of the Climate Club, a high-ambition forum for industry decarbonisation. Previously she worked in development cooperation with a focus on NDCs, Latin America and sustainable development. She holds a masters degree in Climate Change, Development and Policy from the University of Sussex and an undergraduate degree in International Relations. At ClimaTalk she is currently serving as Commissioning Editor responsible for the articles written by the freelance authors. In her free time she is enjoys rowing on the Seine, hiking and realising small sewing projects.

Luisa Schmatz

Luisa Schmatz

COP30 Project Co-Lead

After earning her master degrees in Environmental Policy and International Relations, Luisa interned with the UNFCCC’s Just Transition Work Programme. Her interest lies in exploring the intersection between culture, society, and climate change, that is how cultural narratives can inform climate action and promote sustainable practices. In her free time, Luisa enjoys volunteering behind the scenes at sports events and theaters, merging her passion for community engagement with the arts.

Jennifer Salmon

Jennifer Salmon

COP30 Project Co-Lead

Jennifer is an Earth Fellow and George Moore Scholar at the University of Edinburgh currently completing her LLM in Global Environment and Climate Change Law before starting the UK Bar in September. As Ireland’s Climate Youth Delegate for 2023/24 Jennifer worked to demystify the UNFCCC process for young people and has continued this in her role as an Earth Fellow and now with ClimaTalk. Her research interests include Article 6 of the Paris AgreementLoss and Damage, and advocating for climate justice approaches. In her free time, she loves to hike, sea swim, and read.

Irene Domínguez Pérez

Irene Domínguez Pérez

Climate Careers Project Lead

Irene has a background in Industrial Engineering, with a focus in energy. She works as a Policy Advisor on Embodied Carbon at Bellona Europa, an environmental NGO focusing on industrial decarbonisation and EU climate policy. She is also an alumna of the EIT Climate-KIC Journey 2020 and is passionate about education, feminism, and tackling environmental challenges.
