March 2026

Welcome to the first journal edition of 2026. This edition is all about climate disinformation and misinformation. Our authors explore a wide range of aspects linked to the continued attack on science-based climate action. From the mechanisms through which social media accelerates the spread of misinformation, to the discourses used to justify delaying climate action, to common climate myths, our authors highlight the tactics used by those with open or vested interests to delay climate action. Another section looks at false solutions and greenwashing techniques employed for corporate gain. Finally, our authors situate the crisis of climate disinformation within the broader context, exploring how climate became part of the ongoing culture war and why some actors are now “greenhushing” (if you are unfamiliar with this term, I recommend the article dedicated to it).

We invite you to read and reflect critically on the articles in this edition (and in any other ClimaTalk publication) and get in touch if you have comments or suggestions. We work to the highest standards and hold ourselves accountable to science-based truth.

At the bottom of the page, you can find additional resources to help you identify and counter climate disinformation and misinformation.
