The COP31 Action Agenda is a set of priorities laid out by the Türkiye Presidency to reflect their national priorities and positioning, designed to align with the Global Climate Action Agenda, or GCAA. This five-year plan launched at COP31 will connect non-state climate action with signatory states.
The objectives of the Action Agenda are grouped into six thematic areas:
- Transitioning energy, industry and transport.
- Stewarding Forests, Oceans, and Biodiversity
- Transforming agriculture, and food systems
- Building resilience for cities, infrastructure and water
- Fostering human and social development
- Unleashing enablers and accelerators, including finance, technology and capacity-building
ClimaTalk has developed the explainer factsheet ‘Understanding Action Agendas’ to map out how these Action Agendas work; their structure and how they interact with existing programmes and partnerships; and what we can expect them to achieve.
Additionally, ClimaTalk has produced the following articles to compliment the factsheet and support the understanding of some priorities of Türkiye Presidency within their COP31 Action Agenda:
- Electrification
- Rio Synergy
- Urban Resilience
- Green Industrialisation
- Climate Implementation Bridge
- Zero Waste
- Oceans and Seas
