Decoding UNFCCC Language Guide

Our new guide on Decoding UNFCCC Language is now available for download and makes UNFCCC jargon accessible to young people at COP30 or tracking COP from home.

It was developed by ClimaTalk, ActNowFilm, Cambridge Zero and the University of Bath Institute for Policy Research (IPR) for our co-hosted event as part on the ground on 10th November, the first day of COP30, as part of the UNFCCC Youth4Capacity programme.

This guide covers:

  • Who’s who of COP
  • Where negotiations happen – and how decisions are made
  • Core acronyms
  • What language really means
  • Red flag words and phrases
  • How to track negotiations
  • Frequently asked questions

A plain design version covering only 4 pages with all essential information is available HERE.
