About Us
ClimaTalk is a team of over 100 volunteers from over 30 countries with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
Through enabling a deep understanding of climate policy, we want to empower young people in the fight for climate action!

Emma Heiling
CEO & Founder
Emma has a Master’s in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po, Paris, and a Bachelor’s in Land Economy (Environment, Law and Economics) from the University of Cambridge. She founded ClimaTalk at the end of her undergrad in June 2020 and has been running the organisation ever since. She’s also working as a Climate Policy & Research Consultant for the international marine conservation NGO OceanCare. When she isn’t in meetings or on Slack, she’s busy finding the best vegan food.

Georgia Fulton
COO & Editor-in-Chief
Georgia researches and teaches at the University of Geneva, having studied English literature at Cambridge and Durham. She is Editor-in-Chief at ClimaTalk. Currently she can be found in the mountains around Geneva when not in the library!

Ada Carpenter
Editing Team Co-Lead
Ada is about to complete her master’s degree in Climate Change, Development and Policy at the Institute of Development Studies in Brighton with a research focus on climate smart agriculture and sustainable food systems. She’s an experienced student journalist, having led The KAIST Herald and The Badger student newspapers, and is deeply committed to effective climate communication. In her free time, she loves swimming in the sea and baking vegan cakes.

Aisling Eyers
Editing Team Co-Lead
Having recently graduated from a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Regulation at the London School of Economics, Aisling is now working as a researcher at a sustainability consultancy that specialises in climate change, biodiversity and human rights. She is particularly passionate about issues at the intersection of human rights and climate change, and in engaging people from all different walks of life in the climate discussion. Outside work, she loves running, photography and listening to jazz!

Hazel Mulkeen
COP31 Co-Lead
Hazel is a recent graduate of Trinity College Dublin in French and German. She spent last year chairing her university’s debating society, while also reporting on current affairs for Eurodesk’s Pool of Young Journalists and PulseZ and researching refugee rights for her university’s Free Legal Advice Clinic. This work showed her how international policymaking shapes everyday lives, and instilled a passion for sustainable social justice. She currently serves as a Young Ambassador with the ONE Campaign in the UK supporting development projects in Africa, and with Ensemble Contre la Peine de Mort, advocating for the global abolition of capital punishment. As Co-Lead on ClimaTalk’s COP31 Project, Hazel covers all things SB64 and COP31 – when she’s not working on her advocacy or journalism projects, you can probably find her at the cinema or updating her London café rankings (she’s a coffee fiend).

Cecilia Tran Bui
Communications Team Co-Lead & COP31 Co-Lead
Cecilia is doing her Master’s in Circular Economy and working at United Nations ESCAP, supporting the work on climate action and youth inclusion. She is also a UNEA-7 Youth Delegate, leading ClimaTalk in its first ever coverage of UNEA. Cecilia is passionate about climate justice, resource efficiency, circular economy, and child rights. Cecilia loves puzzles and is practicing archery in her free time!

Felicity Silverthorne
Communications Team Co-Lead
Felicity works as a communications and campaigns consultant with NGOs around the world. She grew up in Cornwall in the UK, and has a strong affinity for the ocean. She is a passionate vegan and animal rights activist. Since completing her MPhil degree in Film and Screen Studies at the University of Cambridge, Felicity has focused her skills and time on her passion for communicating the climate crisis, particularly with youth networks. Her love of film, literature and journalism is centred around her core belief that engagement with the public is what can most effectively lead to change.

Julia Gaus
Commissioning Editor
Julia is working as a junior professional officer at the Secretariat of the Climate Club, a high-ambition forum for industry decarbonisation. At ClimaTalk she is currently serving as Commissioning Editor responsible for the articles written by the freelance authors. In her free time she is enjoys rowing on the Seine, hiking and realising small sewing projects.

Victoria Daramy-Williams
Website Team Co-Lead
Victoria studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, specialising in Chemistry. Now working as a Software Engineer, she’s eager to use her skills to contribute to positive social and environmental change. You’ll probably find her cuddling her cat (much to his chagrin), doing puzzles, or hunting for vegan snacks.

Suzanne van der Neut
Website Team Co-Lead
Suzanne has a master’s degree in European Culture, Politics, and Society, with a focus on EU climate policy and citizen participation in policymaking. She currently works at a municipality in the north of the Netherlands as an advisor on EU projects, most of them revolving around sustainability. She is fully in her element when doing her favorite “grandma hobbies”, reading about topics she cares about, and expanding her ever-growing Letterboxd watchlist.

Irene Domínguez Pérez
Climate Careers Project Lead
Irene has a background in Industrial Engineering, with a focus in energy. She works as a Policy Advisor on Embodied Carbon at Bellona Europa, an environmental NGO focusing on industrial decarbonisation and EU climate policy. She is also an alumna of the EIT Climate-KIC Journey 2020 and is passionate about education, feminism, and tackling environmental challenges.

Anna Bortolussi

Anna is working towards qualifying as a lawyer in London. She is interested in climate justice, and has explored the links between climate change, human rights, and migration. When she is not studying, you are guaranteed to find her climbing or hiking somewhere!
